Helping the Homeless as Need Keeps Growing

Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners’ annual Sleep Out campaign is underway. The fundraiser features individuals and company groups who solicit pledges and then sleep outside at least one night during November and December.

“When you’re lying on the ground and you’re so cold, you realize homelessness is a reality for many people,” IOCP board chairmain Robyn Cook said for a story in the Nov. 11 Star Tribune.

The Sleep Out has raised $10.5 million in 13 years, helping build 61 affordable homes and responding to 1,800 emergency housing crises. This year, the goal is $2 million.
