GiveMN

GiveMN is a new fundraising website that will help Minnesota nonprofits take advantage of the growing online giving trend. It will help Minnesota donors find, support and promote their favorite causes.

There is no cost for nonprofits to participate (grants are covering all transaction fees). In fact, if your organization is listed with the IRS, you’re on GiveMN already!

An added plus: with the Give to the Max Day program, all donations made through the GiveMN website on Nov. 17 will be matched. Find out how to promote this special giving day at givemn.org.

Benefits to nonprofits:

  • Get in front of more supporters: GiveMN’s search function will help nonprofits of all sizes reach thousands of new potential donors.
  • Reduce fundraising costs: Raising $1 online costs 7 cents, as opposed to 20 cents for grant writing or up to $1.25 to acquire new donors through direct mail.
  • Increase giving: Fun and compelling campaigns can engage new givers and inspire current givers to donate even more.

If you’re a nonprofit:

  • Get started by requesting admin access to your organization’s profile.
  • Your profile was pre-loaded with basic information. Add more info about the work you do. (You can use basic HTML to format your information.)
  • Give your donors tangible outcomes for their donations. For example, “$25 provides back-to-school supplies for 5 students.”
  • Create project pages for specific fundraising events.
  • Let your supporters know about your GiveMN profile so they can create their own fundraising pages to support you.

  • Consider whether GiveMN will replace your existing donation tool, or simply enhance it.

If you’re a donor:

  • Research organizations and causes near and dear to your heart.
  • Raise money for the organizations you support.
  • Come back to GiveMN on Nov. 17 to take advantage of Match Day.
  • You can create an account to keep track of your giving and even schedule future donations.
